Central Business District
The inner part of the poblacion, considered as the Central Business District-CBD, is dominated by commercial establishments and service-oriented industries. The activities are found along Maharlika Highway from Dubinan to Mabini some 11 kilometers of business activities complemented with shops and offices. The CBD services the entire population of Santiago and also nearby municipalities.
Economy
Dubbed as the Commercial Hub of the Cagayan Valley Region, Santiago City is one of the best venues of investments in this part of the country. The number of registered business establishments in the city continues to increase. According to the City Permits and License Inspection Office, there are 3,121 registered business establishments in 2007 and 3,504 in 2008. The tax revenue generated from these establishments has also increased correspondingly.
Market
There are two public markets in Santiago City which are adjacent to one another - the old public market and the new public market. Each market has dry and wet sections. Other services like small eateries and restaurants are also located within the vicinity.
